Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina—Consensus and cooperation in the Balkan region were the focus of a conference held on December 15, 2016.
Hosted by a member of the EU Parliament in Brussels, Flavio Zanonato, Women's Federation for World Peace Europe (WFWP-Europe) brought over 130 participants from throughout Europe to debate the theme, "Engaging Civil Society to Build Security and Cohesion in Europe" on June 29, 2016. Supporting organisations included the World Youth Alliance, the Universal Peace Federation and Women without Borders.
To launch their Parliamentarians for Peace Initiative, Universal Peace Federation (UK) held a conference on the topic "How Is Europe to Deal With Violent Religious Extremism?" on 13 April, 2016, at the House of Parliament in London, United Kingdom hosted by Universal Peace Federation - UK Patron, Mr Virendra Sharma MP.
The last several months we left behind look like a chain of tragic events showing an unprecedented rise in religious intolerance: massacres of Boko Haram in Nigeria, the attack against Charlie Hebdo in Paris, attacks in Lebanon, Egypt, and Turkey, November’s terrorist attacks in Paris and March’s terrorist attacks in Brussels.
